Really?

Thursday after work (before our band practice) the hubby gave me permission to get more schtuff for my big debut... (more on that later...) so we ended up at a JoAnn's fabric store that is closing near our house and got some goods. I am saddy because I wish I would have gotten more stuff, but it was pretty picked over. I did however score all of this:
and this:
So since I got this at an auction for $15 about two weeks ago:
and it's not really my style - I thought I would use some of this:
To change it up and make it a better match for my living room and this is how I did it:
So I turned the ottoman upside down and unscrewed the cushion part from the leg part. Once I did that I laid the fabric down and put the cushion on top to measure the fabric that I would cut. Once I measured I cut and then got my new staple gun and went to town. In the midst of my renovation, Pierre was being nosy mcnosy and wanted to see what was going on. When I started the stapling, I just made sure that the fabric was nice and tight so that it would look good. Once I finished stapling, I attached it back to the ottoman and voila! Looks good huh?

(excuse the toe action)

As you can see the legs are not that bad, so I am thinking we will leave it the way it is. I just knew I needed to get rid of the Golden Girls palm tree look. Ahhhh... much better!
Stay Tuned!

Trying to get back in the swing.

So since the wedding is done! (PHEW) I can try to get back into the swing of things. What I mean by that is that I can get back into working my butt off at work, church, home! Maybe not in that order (or maybe so...)

Basically I want to get back into a good routine where I am organized at home, with the bills and cleaning. As well i want to try and start an etsy.com shop! I have gotten into crafting and such that it would be cool to make my crafts available to others!

I want to devote more time to studying the WORD and preparing better for worship for Friday nights and Sunday mornings. I feel like I am not getting enough of the WORD and need to prepare.

I want to devote more time to my hubby. Making him feel special and loved and honored. I want him to feel appreciated and well taken care of. He is such a good husband and gives me soo much that I just want to shower him with love and attention. Praise GOD for this wonderful gift. Praise that HE has given me a wonderful Godly man to spend time here on earth with.

So there you have it. I guess you could call this my midyear resolutions or goals.
I'll keep you updated!

Alrighty Then!

Weekend Recap!
So I will copy/paste my list from the weekend and give you the update (in pink) on what was done and what wasn't... you won't be surprised........
1) Bathrooms (all three of them need some major scrub action) - NEGATIVO! This was last on my priorities for the weekend as I was not feeling well on Sat... (but I did lose another 1.6 lbs!)
2) vacuum and clean carpets (there are some mysterious stains - no doubt they are from the outside elements, such as dirt!) - another NEGATIVO!!! I didn't even look at the Dyson... he is in the closet, just waiting to be used!
3) sweep/mop - aaaaaaaaaaaannnnd NEGATIVO it is!!! ugh... man I am feeling kind of sad at this list.. I am already half way down and three negativos....
4) clean and redo the 'night stand' that I purchased for the guest bedroom. - NEGATIVO! I am on a roll... not something to be proud of though.
5) launder and organize all towels/linens. As well as find a place for this:
Ok.. so this is a Half NEGATIVO because I did launder all the linens/towels and such (as well as the sheets/comforter for the guest bedroom) but I did not find a place for this thing yet!
6) get stuff out to the garage that will be garage sale worthy. (my family is doing their annual everyone get together at my aunts house for a garage sale, next weekend) - ok.. so I didn't have to do anything for this because we canceled the garage sale (well we moved it to July so that everyone could get their stuff together as not many were ready)

Well.. seeing how my list o'stuff didn't really get completed, I will tell you that I did find some stuff to pretty up this weekend (or so I say) as well as I think I will start my own etsy shop.. I just don't know how to go about doing it.. so I will be researching it this week.

I got these few things at the thrift store and will be cleaning them up and putting them out on display!!

I have been looking up and down and all around for something to go in my dining room to display my STUFF and I found this beauty at the thrift store over the weekend - while it isn't your typical hutch or whatever you call it, I thought it would work great! So.. the little price tag on it said $60 - but there was a sign that said "make me an offer" - I was super shy (so not like me) and so hubby came out and said $10 bucks... the lady (who was super sweet) said she would go check and then came back and said - we will take $20 and then my hubby said... ok ok.. what about $15 and so she went and came back and said you got a deal! We got it for $15!!!!!
I want to sand it down and lighten it up to match the dining room set a little better. Oh and it's missing a little shelf in the inside so I will need to come up with a plan for that! It's gonna look great!
In the same area with the $15dollar bad boy was the this cute little bundle of joy! It was marked at $5 and also had the "make me an offer" sign and so I got it for $2.50... I have NO Clue what I will use it for, but hey.. $2.50 for a utility cart.. come on!
The stuff on top was a good deal too. The round tray was $1.50 and the rectangle one was $2.00. I plan on cleaning the trays up and spray painting the middle with chalk board paint so I can display them with fun little notes! :) Like this bloggy blog friend did. Aren't they just divine!
Well.. anyway.. that's what I got for now. Stay tuned to see what else I come up with!

Weekend Plans

This week has been super busy as well as tiring. Maybe it's just me??? Anyway, we have a pretty laid back weekend - well technically we aren't really 'doing anything' - except that the Hubby will be taking his brother shopping (my brother in law will be heading to japan for 3 weeks and needs more clothes) and then probably taking his mom grocery shopping. All the while I will be at home cleaning and organizing the house. I need to do some major cleaning on the home front as I have neglected the whole house with exception to laundry! LOL.

So this weekend has been deemed my clean it all weekend. Here is what I plan to do. (in random order)
1) Bathrooms (all three of them need some major scrub action)

2) vaccum and clean carpets (there are some mysterious stains - no doubt they are from the outside elements, such as dirt!)

3) sweep/mop
4) clean and redo the 'night stand' that I purchased for the guest bedroom.
5) launder and organize all towels/linens. As well as find a place for this:
6) get stuff out to the garage that will be garage sale worthy. (my family is doing their annual everyone get together at my aunts house for a garage sale, next weekend)

I think that might be it! phew... It's gonna be pretty busy instead of laid back like I thought...

I'll post pics of the end results either Sat night or Sun after church.
Hasta!

Wordless Wednesday.

Since I haven't done this before, I will just tell you what this means. It means that I post a picture without commentary ... Hence the Wordless Wednesday.

Profesh pic teaser.

So theBride's photographer is freaking fabulous. She is new to the scene but is already very promising and very great to work with. I am soo happy that my sister was able to score this photographer and I plan to use her in some upcoming events.
I noticed that theBride had some pics on her myspace and so I wanted to share them here too so that you could see the fabulousness (yeah, I made that up) of the day!!! Remember, in some of these we were in 102 degree weather in the plain sun on a Saturday around 4:30 in the afternoon. So as you keep that in mind, you can see that we still look good (thanks to the skills of the great photographer!) - Ok.. here are the pics.. but there is not going to be commentary, just wonderful pictures..

Woohoo... I can rest! (for now)

So the wedding went off without a hitch! It was beautiful and had everything from laughter, crying, falling and funny! I couldn't have been happier for my sister as this really was a day to remember!!

I only have a few pics from the wedding as I was Matron/Wedding Coordinator so I was running around doing stuff and really didn't have time to take pictures. The other thing is that hubby was having such a good time that he didn't take many pics either! Ha! Here are some pics with commentary.... good times!!

We started the festivities off on Friday with some time as the Spa. We had a great time showing our mom around the spa as she had never been. Let me tell you - she is something else! Anyway here are some pics of our time there:
TheBride and our mom just settling in for some yummy coffee and relaxation.
Talking about the things that need to get done today.
TheBride and I (excuse the no make on the bride as she had just woken up - well really, she had gotten little to no sleep the night before!)
Mom and theBride getting pedicured!

The end result. TheBride is the one with the green toes (her wedding colors were black, white and green) and then my toes (striped flip flops) and mom's toes (plain black flip flops)

The ONLY picture the hubby got at the church - Dad walking theBride down the aisle.

Here I am at the reception with my bff, Jvilla! You can't see it really well, but I have the cutest hair band with a flower in my hair.

Here is a pic of the all the girls that sat at our table. From left to right, Maria, Pbean, Me, JVilla and LSoliz. Good Times!!

The hubby and I. Too cute! :0)

TheBride and groom came to the reception wearing their true colors - she is an Astros Fan and he is a die hard Cardinals fan! It was hilarious!!!

Well... now I can get back to getting our house in order. I still owe you pics of the office as well as some befores/afters of some thrift store/garage sale and auction finds... stay tuned!

Hasta!

Adri

PS... I'll leave you with this - their first picture as a married couple. This was taken just minutes after the ceremony. The photographer was WONDERFUL!

What's on my Walls Wednesday!

I frequent another blog and it brought me to this gem of a blog - and they are doing What's On Your Walls Wednesday! This is where we showcase what's on our walls or lack there of, so here is my entry.
I have told you before my Love Affair with bare picture Frames... yes.. that's right... bare no pictures in them frames... let me show you what I am talking about:
See this bare frame above our monster tv... I found the frame in my parent's garage and they certainly were not using it, so I thought - hey what the heck! I need something above the tv that will take up some space. Voila!

This bare frame is being held up by a curtain holder. It "frames" a monogrammed frame that I got for Christmas. Too cute!

Here is the piece de resistance! or however you say it... the wall o' frames. This wall leads upstairs and I thought could handle the lot of frames that I found. I actually got all these frames from a thrift store for less than $15!! Can you believe it?
Another look at the frames.
A closeup of the bigger frame 'framing' the smaller ones! ha!!
Get on over to Grits and Glamour to see what everyone is doing to their walls!
Hasta!
