So I am starting to feel better and better each day, so I decided last night that I would make my hubby a great meal since he has been such a good nurse to me this past week.
My family has always made Milanesas (think Chicken Fried Steak) and I decided that I would make them with chicken instead of steak. I called my grandma to make sure I had all I needed to get it done. If after you see these YUMMY pics you want to try it, here is what you need (I don't have measurements, but hey eyeball it)
Breadcrumbs (or in our case Panko)
2 eggs
Garlic Salt (or powder)
Season All
Adobo (spice)
Salt/Pepper
Oil to fry (we use Smart Balance)
Plates and Paper towels
I am going to continue this post with pictures and commentary so you can get the idea of how it's done. WARNING - picture overload!!

Ok.. when it's nice and thin, dip it in the egg on both sides.

Then dip in the Panko (or breadcrumbs)

Flip (and make a Panko mess!)

ahhhh... beautifully breaded!!!

Ok.. so move the plate with the chix over to the stove and then get another plate and line it with paper towel (you'll see why in juuuuust a minute)

alright, so once your oil is nice and hot, drop that yummy goodness in the hot oil and watch it turn golden brown...

Crispy closeup!

See.. just eyeball it.

Mix together and you are good to go!

Tadaaaaa!!! Look at this yummy goodness. I served our Milanesa with white rice and green salad (and sliced avocado) GOOD STUFF!!

Closeup of my plate (I was about to cut myself a piece when I remembered to take a pic)

Hubby's plate (bigger piece of Milanesa!)
There you have it!! Yummy food for a great nurse! We have great plans for this next week as we take some much needed vacay time. I will surely be blogging about it, so get ready!
Hasta!
