Where have I been and a 2010 Recap post...

Where have I been??

Well the last part of the year proved to be super busy for me. With Home, Work, Church and family gatherings - it was a real HUMDINGER of an end of the year. I LOVED every minute of it and really wish that I had spent more time blogging about it instead of leaving you hanging (are you still there?)

A beautiful friend of mine (Melly) did a 2010 recap and I'm gonna steal her idea (Thanks, Mell) and add a little twist.
I know that it's practically almost the middle of January and I should have really done this post last week, but hey! Here I am and here we go!
2010 Recap!
January marked my 30th year of LIFE. God is soooooooooo Good! He is ever so loving and is constantly giving me life. It was a great celebration when I turned 30 and I am soo happy to have spent it with my hubs and family.

February marked my dad's 50th! We had a GREAT BIG BASH for him at a yummy restaurant that has banquet rooms and it was awesome. My dad is like no other and I am soo blessed to have been placed to him. Again, props to the Big Guy upstairs!

Dad is the one in the yellow hat!

March marked our 4th wedding anniversary and our first REAL vacay since our HoneyMoon and that was our CRUISE!!!! We got to go with our great friends theConnells and my grandparents. It was the best and I hope that we can take another one this year (tax refund, where are you??)

April the hubs and I took a roadtrip up to San Antonio to visit my youngest sister and wish her love at her babyshower. That was a great little RoadTrip and I know we will take some of those again this year!
May we got our NEW SINK (that is AWESOME as ever) and Moosekey, my youngest brother went to prom! Loved MAY!

June and July - were no doubt as fun as always in the Houston heat and went by so fast that I really didn't have much to talk about from those months.. Interesting....Moving on -

August - in a word - awesome as we took our little brother to College. My Moosekey is just a great young man and is learning how to be independent and honing his skills in baseball. He is going to a private college here in Texas and will no doubt make us very proud. I pray for him a lot and ask that the Lord guide him to be a leader and to make the best decisions that he can so that his life will be shaped the right way. How I love my Moosekey soo much and can't wait for him to become the best of what he is to become!

September was amazing because I was able to go to a women's conference with three beautiful friends!! (one was Melly!). We had such a good time and I really think God moved in such a way in us that really helped us understand how we can lean on each other Spiritually. I pray that we are able to do another conference this year.

October - OH GOSH.. October... that was an awesome month as we totally celebrated theConnells becoming one! These guys are truely great friends of mine and I am soooo happy that they are starting out their lives with the hubs and I in it! :) As well, I started the oh so easy task (sarcasm much) of cleaning out our closets (and NO I am not done!) I do plan to tackle those soon, but finding the motivation is very interesting.

November and December were full of family, friends, food and fifts - OK I meant GIFTS but I was on a roll with the F's... LOL... Yeah.. so I didnt take many pictures and but I did have a great time just enjoying the season and doing something life changing... read on.

Brace yourselves, this is heavy - I find that during the month of December most everyone is in a friendly, giving mood. Not so much the rest of the year. I am soo saddened by this and it really causes me emotions as I try my best to give to others (as I HAVE been blessed sooo much in my life).

I started thinking about my blessing and how I could share them and thought up The $20 Dollar Project. I got a group of my girls together (well there were 4 of us and I tried atleast to get a few more, but those that couldn't come did contribute monetarily - we will call them Dee on a stick and Ellie on a stick - you'll see what I mean in the pics below) and asked them to bring $20 each and we would do something life changing. Not only for those that we blessed, but for us as well. I mean come on, it is pretty hard to gather people during the holidays as most are pretty busy!

Anyway back to the story... we went to eat at a pretty fun restaurant (Chuys Mexican Restaurant) and while we were there we prayed for God to show us a table that could use some blessing and stirring up. So as we prayed and talked and ate chips a small family (mom, dad and daughter) came in and we knew - that was who we were gonna bless. We called over the manager and told him of our story and he was flabbergasted to say the least! He just couldn't believe that we were going to bless another table by paying for their food. So he went into action and told their waitress what was to take place and then with a new pep in his step, went over and told the family of their good fortune! They couldn't beleive it. They looked around to see who it could be and we just tried to act as non-chalant as we could. We were soooo nervous and giddy all at the same time. This was it, we were going to pay for their meal and it was gonna make a difference! Our waiter came over with their bill (they only had three entrees, water, a beverage and some queso) and to our surprise it was really inexpensive. So we still had money to spend! Our $20 project was proving to be a success and just like the Lord does for us on a daily basis, we still had money left to continue blessing. So we went in search of another way to bless and ended up in Kroger's grocery store - mind you, this is on a Saturday night and so it was kind of sparce - and ended up blessing about 6 different ppl by paying for their last minute groceries. I say last minute groceries because not one transaction went over $15. We felt soooo good that we ended up stopping at Starbucks to reflect on what we had done... and even there we felt the move to continue blessing! It was such a wonderful night. We made a decision that night that we would do this $20 dollar project atleast once a quarter, but to continue to bless on our own as well.

This is Bianca (my beautiful cousin) and Ellie on a Stick!

and this is Dee on a Stick drinking her Starbucks...

and here is the beautiful family that we bless... the picture is HORRIBLE because we didnt want to get caught! LOL...

2010 was a great year and I am so thankful for all that I was able to receive and do. I can not wait to see how the Lord blesses us in abundance this year!

Hasta!

Adri.

PS - my birthday is in 5 days and I will be 31. No longer just "30" now I will be able to tell people that I am "in my 30's" I can't wait!!!!
