Update on DIY project!

So in previous posts I told you about how I was going to mail out a gift to my beautiful cousin that lives in CA and is expecting her first child.

Well I mailed it this Morning!!!! WOOHOO!

This is what the box looked like in the car on the way to being mailed: (please excuse the plastic bag right next to it)

Ok.. so let me tell you what I put in the box.

First I put a vinyl decal that looks like this:

The baby's name will be Isabella Leilani! How cute is that?!?!? Well when talking to my cousin about the baby's room, she said it would be different shades of pink all together with white trim, so this decal is pink with white. I apologize that I did not take a picture of the decal before taping up the box - BUT you wouldn't get the full effect anyway because it still has the wrapping

Secondly, while looking around on the internet I stumbled across this cute 'on the go' type holder that would hold a travel box of wipes and about 2 regular sized (or 4 newborn) diapers for those times when you don't want to lug around the baby bag - just quick and on the go. Anyway, I thought it was a super cute idea and that I could make it myself.. so on to the fabric dept of WalMart and started away!

Here is the before: Pink and black polka dot, neon green and a black button (I used black thread)

Here is the after: Since I am new at this blogging thing - well atleast with taking pictures and such - I FORGOT to take a before pic! ugh... anyway you get the idea. In this picture you see that basically it's a soft clutch type bag that can be put into a bigger bag (purse) or just kept in the car for 'emergencies' It's REALLY homemade, so I dont know how long it will last :( - but at the same time... it was soo therapeautic to make! I want to make more - now if only I could get the sewing machine on my team! Then it would not take as long and look a little more 'finished'

In this picture you can see that I have the wipes (travel box) and 4 newborn diapers.. these diapers are SUPER tiny... so cute!!! When the hubby saw them he had a different look in his eye... I told him "don't even think about it..but aren't they the cutest!!!" Sooooo tiny!!!

Thirdly - I also made what I thought would turn out to be a 'burp cloth' - yeah right. What it more resembled was a tiny blanket! lol... I think it may become a 'security blanket' like on Charlie Brown! - I again was too quick to pack it up and get it mailed out, that I didnt take a picture of it and so you just get a picture of the material... super cute! It has cows and little jugs that say 'milk' which is why I wanted to make a burp cloth... hmm maybe not.

Lastly - I added the rest of the diapers from the package that we bought so that I could stuff the travel clutch. I also got some Boudreaux's Butt Paste! ha ha Butt Paste!!! It's rash ointment and suppose to be the best thing!!! It is kind of pricey, but I hear it's well worth it! Yup.. you guessed it. No pictures of the Butt Paste... but I did find this pic online.. so not all that bad!

So there you have it! Fun Stuff!!! and I can't wait to see what she thinks of it! I hope she loves it!!!
