Ok.. so maybe not on hold for a few days...

I have some time before I dive into work to go over a few things that we did at the bridal shower.

Keep in mind that I was very busy (read dumb) and didn't take pictures of the whole setup, so I will double up and use some of the pictures below to kind of describe what we did.

So above you can see a semi good view of the location that we had the shower at. This is actually a new up and coming outdoor location that rents out it's facilities for plenty of parties (showers, wedding receptions, corporate events - etc) It can accomadate plenty. ok.. let me stop trying to sell this place to you and how about you go check it out - the patio on mercer

Anyway... on this occasion, I decided that it would be cheaper to do all the work myself - as in renting chairs, doing the food, linens, decor - so all I used from their place (and they are soo nice that they let me use them without charging extra) was the tables. I used 5 tables that seat 8 - so I had seating for 40. and there were only 3 seats left.. you do the math! LOL.

ok.. So the linens - my mom had them (saved money there!) I rented the chairs from anyoccasionpartyrental - They were great and really worked with me on the delivery times and venue. I actually SCORED because I was worried that I would spend my whole budget on chairs alone - as I really wanted the chairs you see pictured here

- but they were $2.50 a piece and I originally ordered 60 (just in case because I actually invited 52 ppl - yeah.. theBride is loved!) anyway.. that would have taken me over the edge.. so I orderd the cheaper chair at $1.40 - see below.

Here is where I scored.. keep reading - so I call the rental place up and ask them what time they are coming on Friday (the shower was on Sunday) to drop of the chairs as the venue was closed due to no events on Sat, so no one would be there. Anyway, the nice lady tells me that they would be there later that day and that there was a problem with my order because the chair I had ordered (cheaper chair) was out of stock and that they would be upgrading me to the nicer chair at NO extra charge!!!! woohoo!!! nice chairs for me :) so anyway.. I got the nicer chair, which really brought the look together.

On to the next picture... The shadows are from the pergola roofing. We had such great sunny weather, but it made for my bad picture taking. eh, no biggie.

So in this picutre you can see that we had the following.. lime green plastic plates (not disposable) and then a smaller white disposable plate on top with a folded napkin (utensils inside) a daisy on top of the folded napkin with a clothesline pin (painted green) The clothesline pin was for a game that we played. Each guest had to pin the clothespin with the flower onto their blouse and could not cross their legs or arms. If they crossed their legs or arm and someone saw it then they got to keep the pin. Now you tell me if this is not torture! LOL.. a bunch of women sitting around not being able to cross their legs?!?!!? It was HILARIOUS!

As well in this picture, we set out two salad bowls at each table along with two different dressings (one vinigrette and the other was a tuscan italian - I think - mom was in charge of food) Anyway, as the centerpiece we used a long vase with a green ribbon adhered to the top filled with daisies, water and floating limes. This was soo cute if I do say so myself. The few guests that stayed to the end (to help clean up) got to take one home as a thank you!

oh and one more thing on the table. I made some Thank You gifts - little seed packets with a poem that says: Plant these flowers and as they bloom, think about the Bride and Groom! I put 4 in each pot and then put two pots at each table.

The next picture is the drink station:

I bought the beverage dispensers at Sam's Club for $1988 each! (super cheap and they are super cute!) and I made each puff that's hanging around the drink station. The beverage dispensers had lemon water and ice tea. Lemon water is just water, ice and slices of lemon that infuse the water with a hint of lemon. The icetea is just regular Lousianne. The yellow and green linens were from the dollar store ( I totally scored on that!)

Anyway.. I think that's it's for now.
I will come back later and give a step by step on the few things that I was able to diy as well as a food recap:
1) the puffs above the drink station
2) the thank you gifts
3) FOOD!

Hasta!
Adri
